What to get your clients for Christmas
That time of year has come around again where everybody’s struggling to get their work’s Christmas cards written and sent, along with deciding what, if any, gifts to get their longstanding clients. The giving of Christmas gifts is quite important to maintain client / supplier relations, as let’s face it, who doest like to receive something nice for free?
There are many different types of gifts that you could choose from, ranging from a simple bar of chocolate, to an expensive hamper or bottle of champagne.
However, it’s always better to choose what we like to call ‘interactive gifts’ for your clients as they have the added potential to also bring you closer together.
By ‘interactive’ I mean gifts that involve your mutual participation – maybe your client likes rock or country music and you could take them out to see a gig or live show? Or maybe they like football or horse racing, with tickets to such an event also being available?
Generally speaking, people buy from people that they get on well with, so if you have the opportunity to take them out and enhance your relationship to more of a personal level, then you most likely have a client for life.
So this Christmas, think about how you can build your relationship with your client – as they say, ‘a clients for life, not just for Christmas’…
